Efficient infrastructure management

Since 1 January, EFFIA has been managing parking in Châteauroux under a Délégation de Service Public (DSP) contract on behalf of the city and the Métropole. The official opening took place on Thursday 2 January, marking the start of a new organisation for parking in the area.

A large number of people were involved in getting the infrastructure and equipment up and running efficiently. A large number of employees worked hard to ensure a smooth transition, guaranteeing uninterrupted service.

A structuring perimeter for parking

The PSD covers a total of 3,569 parking spaces, divided between 6 underground car parks and 4 surface car parks. Of these, three will soon be equipped with barriers to optimise flow management and improve the experience for motorists. In addition, 1,077 on-street parking spaces are available, with 61 pay and display machines regulating the use of these spaces.

Modernisation for improved accessibility

This new organisation aims to improve the accessibility and fluidity of parking in the city centre. It is also part of a modernisation process, with the gradual adaptation of the infrastructure to the needs of users and the challenges of urban mobility.

The introduction of this scheme strengthens the structure of parking in Châteauroux and contributes to better management of public space. Thanks to the commitment of the teams involved, this transition has been successfully completed, ensuring optimum continuity of service from the very first days.
