The Copenhagen Transport Authority, Movia, has awarded Keolis a 14-year contract to operate a bus line. This contract, worth over €100 million in total, includes the deployment of a 100% electric fleet consisting of 15 buses.
Present in Denmark since 2000, including the Copenhagen area where the Group already operates two bus depots, Keolis will strengthen its activities starting in March 2026. The 15 electric buses for Line 19 will be operated from the Naverland depot, home to Keolis Denmark’s headquarters, where specific upgrades will be made to optimize vehicle charging: 8 new charging stations, each equipped with two chargers, will be added to the 6 existing stations, bringing the total to 28 charging points.
With a dedicated team of 75 drivers, Keolis will leverage its expertise in energy transition to meet the growing public transport needs and ensure optimal service for passengers in the Copenhagen area. This “100% electric” contract reflects Keolis’ commitment to expanding its low-carbon mobility offering.
This award also highlights Movia's continued trust in Keolis. In 2020, the Danish transport authority entrusted the company with a contract to operate and maintain 47 buses serving major cities on the island of Zealand. In 2022, Keolis was also awarded the renewal of a bus line in the Copenhagen area, including 17 electric buses out of a total fleet of 28.
