Digital accessibility: a key driver of equitable access to information

As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, the keolis.com website has just reached a key milestone. Following an audit carried out by the specialist consultancy Access 42, the website recorded a score of 85% compliance with the French RGAA standard (General Framework for Accessibility Improvement).

This accomplishment offers clear proof of the Group’s tangible commitment to digital inclusion. It enables all internet users, particularly those with disabilities, to easily access online services. This approach is an integral part of the company’s CSR policy in favour of diversity and equal access for all.

Foundational work combining technical overhaul and contributions

Reaching this level of compliance called for a cross-organisational effort. This outcome was largely achieved through the implementation of a major technical project to optimise the website’s source code. Page structure, contrast levels and development were reviewed to ensure seamless navigation for assistive technologies such as screen readers.

Beyond the code, efforts were also made in terms of editorial input. The team responsible for managing the website is now exercising greater vigilance when publishing new content online to ensure that accessibility criteria are met.

A first step towards a shared culture

Achieving this score on keolis.com is a key first step. The aim now is to build on this momentum. An internal awareness campaign is underway to ensure that these best practices are widely adopted by all our employees.

Just as modern transport must be inclusive, so too must access to information. This score of 85% reflects Keolis’s long-standing commitment to digital accessibility for all.
